Architecte diplômé de l’Ensa Nantes, fondateur de la maison d’édition Light ZOOM Lumière en 2012 et du portail éponyme, Vincent Laganier est l’auteur de six ouvrages de référence sur la lumière, la ville et le bâtiment. Il enseigne également l’éclairage à l’Ensa Nantes et à l’Insa de Lyon.
Lumières – Comment est né Light ZOOM Lumière ?
Vincent Laganier – J’ai créé le site Light ZOOM Lumière le 5 janvier 2012. Sa mission consiste à promouvoir la culture de la lumière en France et à l’étranger, à participer à l’échange et à la discussion sur ce thème. L’objectif est de présenter la variété des réalisations de l’éclairage sur Internet et d’offrir plus de visibilité en ligne pour les professions de la lumière.
Comment le site fonctionne-t-il ?
Vincent Laganier – Le site fonctionne comme un portail d’information participatif dédié à la lumière et à l’éclairage francophone. Chaque professionnel peut nous adresser des textes, des photos et des vidéos. Une vingtaine de contributeurs partagent leur savoir-faire dans nos colonnes, soit de manière occasionnelle et spontanée, soit à la suite d’une commande de notre plateforme. Nous publions entre cinq et dix billets par semaine.
Quel regard portez-vous sur l’évolution de la conception lumière ?
Vincent Laganier – Le métier de concepteur lumière en France s’est organisé il y a environ vingt ans, à la naissance de l’ACE. À cette époque, les budgets mobilisables pour l’aménagement nocturne de la cité étaient importants, aussi la conception lumière s’est-elle logiquement développée sur l’éclairage urbain, architectural et paysager. Sans doute à cause du manque de formation longue, son évolution est lente. C’est une exception française que de ne toujours pas avoir de formation Bac+ 5 en conception lumière !
Quels sont les points forts de l’enseignement de l’éclairage en France ?
Vincent Laganier – Les points forts sont sans doute les nombreuses formations techniques, soit dans le domaine de l’ingénierie pour des postes en bureau d’études, soit dans le spectacle et le cinéma pour des profils de régisseur et technicien lumière sur un plateau. Le parent pauvre est la formation à la méthodologie de conception, à l’éclairage intérieur, à la technique des LED et à la lumière naturelle, sujets peu présents dans nos programmes, à la différence de ceux de l’Allemagne, la Grande-Bretagne et des pays nordiques.
Quelles sont les évolutions du portail Light ZOOM Lumière ?
Vincent Laganier – Nous souhaitons aider encore plus les professionnels de l’éclairage à mener leurs activités dans la lumière. Par exemple, comment faire publier sa réalisation lumière dans un magazine ? Notre marque LightPress offre ainsi un panel de solutions Web pour les entreprises et les associations. Elles vont de la publication d’une offre d’emploi, une annonce de lancement, à un billet rédigé par un de nos contributeurs. En projet pour 2016, un concours grand public en ligne sur la lumière et l’éclairage en France et la relance de mon activité d’éditeur de livres autour d’une nouvelle collection. Lumières – How was Light ZOOM Lumière created?
Vincent Laganier – I created the site Light ZOOM Lumière in January 5, 2012. Its mission is to promote the culture of light in France and abroad and to participate in the exchange and the discussions on the subject. The objective is to present the variety of lighting productions on the Internet and to offer more visibility online for lighting professionals.
How does the site work?
The site functions as a participatory francophone information port al dedicated to light and lighting. Any professional can send us texts, pictures and videos. Twenty contributors share their know-how in our columns, either occasionally and spontaneously or on order from our platform. We publish between five and ten articles a week.
What do you think of the evolution in lighting design?
The profession of lighting designer in France was organized about 20 years ago with the creation of ACE. At that time, there were big budgets for the nocturnal planning of the city, so lighting design logically developed in urban, architectural and landscape lighting as well. The evolution has been slow, no doubt because of the lack of academic/graduate training. The French exception is that we still have no post graduate master in lighting design!
What are the key points in teaching lighting in France?
Highlights are undoubtedly the many technical training courses, either in the field of engineering for positions in design offices, or in entertainment and the cinema for profiles such as lighting technicians. The education is missing in the fields of design methodology, indoor lighting, LED technology and daylight, which are all topics rarely addressed in our programs, unlike those in Germany, Great-Britain and the Nordic countries.
What are the developments of the Light ZOOM Lumière portal?
We would like to assist lighting professionals further in carrying out their activities, for example, how to have their lighting projects published in a magazine. Our LightPress brand offers a range of Web solutions for companies and associations. They range from the publication of job offers, a launch announcement, to a column written by one of our contributors. Planned for 2016: an online public contest on light and lighting in France. Relaunching my activity as a book publisher for a new collection. I invite all interested organizations to contact us to become partners.
